News and information are available at www.atkinsrealis.com or follow us on **Substation Electrical Engineer** * Design substation facilities such as busbars, grounding, lightning protection, including site layout and equipment arrangement, control room, switchgear building, etc. * Prepare three\-phase AC diagrams, schematic diagrams, and wiring diagrams. * Perform sizing calculations for AC and DC auxiliary systems. * Carry out optimal design in accordance with utility standards, industry standards, specifications, and adhere to good engineering practices and constructability requirements. * Prepare material, equipment, and construction work specifications, and select equipment and materials. * Prepare material bills and cable schedules. * Coordinate design activities with other members of the project’s multidisciplinary team. * Participate in the development of equipment layout plans and elevation drawings for the substation. * Participate in the development of trench plans and sections for distribution networks and underground cable and conduit routing. * Participate in relay setting calculations and protection coordination studies. * Provide technical support for procurement. * Provide construction support, including resolving field issues, attending meetings and site inspections during project construction phases. * Maintain complete project documentation related to engineering studies and calculations, all design records, and update requirements. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. * Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical substation design. * Knowledge of high\-voltage electrical systems, substation equipment, and distribution systems for voltages ranging from 25 kV to 765 kV. * Familiarity with applicable industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and the Canadian Electrical Code. * Knowledge of substation and power plant controls, their digitization, and associated cybersecurity will be an additional advantage. * Proficiency in CDEGS, CYMCAP, and AutoCAD software will be an additional advantage. * High level of interpersonal communication skills, including strong written and spoken English and French. * Willingness to relocate to Canada on a one\-year assignment basis.
