The Role #### **Job description** * Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL, MSSQL server databases. * Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, MSSQL administration. * Monitor database performance and ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. * Collaborate with application developers and system analysts to design and develop efficient database structures and schemas. * Implement and maintain key database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures. * Manage and enforce database security measures, including user authentication, authorization, and access controls, while addressing vulnerabilities and security breaches. * Analyze database performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize query execution through techniques like indexing, partitioning, and caching. * Perform regular database backups, ensuring data integrity, and restore databases in the event of data loss or system failures. * Identify and troubleshoot database\-related issues, including errors, performance problems, and system failures. * Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and vendors to resolve complex database\-related issues. #### **Skills** * **Educational background:** B.Sc. in the field of Computer Science or relevant field. * **Experience:** A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator. * **Technical proficiency:** * + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Familiarity with database security best practices, including user management and role\-based access controls. + Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database issues. + Proficiency in scripting languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting. + Experience with backup and recovery strategies. + Experience with database replication, clustering, and high\-availability configurations. + Understanding of encryption and auditing. + Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues quickly and effectively. + Proven experience in managing large\-scale databases in PostgreSQL and MSSQL environments. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross\-functional teams.
