Description **JOB PURPOSE** To make the best use of the data within the bank by employing various data science methodologies and machine learning techniques to provide data\-driven recommendations that support key stakeholders across the bank to make better\-informed decisions and bring value to the bank **KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES** **Roles and Responsibilities** 1\. Analyze and interpret business problems from different departments into well\-defined data science initiatives 2\. Build and validate data modelling hypothesis for the various analytics initiatives 3\. Gather, validate, process, prepare and explore data in order to find hidden insights and patterns 4\. Analyse and interpret data patterns to extract knowledge, generate effective recommendations and create value 5\. Apply knowledge in statistics and data\-mining to see beyond the numbers and understand how customers interact with bank’s products and services 6\. Research and build data science and machine learning algorithms to solve various business problems 7\. Effectively communicate results, insights and data\-driven recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership **Policies, Processes and Procedures** 8\. Follow all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner **Day\-to\-day Operations** 9\. Follow the day\-to\-day operations related to own jobs in the department to ensure continuity of work **Compliance** 10\. Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIB’s sound legal position and mitigate any potential risks Qualifications **Qualifications \& Experience** § Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic performance in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics/Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering…etc.) § Master's Degree in a quantitative or business field is a plus § Analyst: 2 \- 4 years of previous work experience § Specialist: 0 \- 2 years of previous work experience § Experience in data science or advanced analytics related jobs would be a plus § Experience in banking industry would be a plus **Skills** § Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills § Ability to present complex issues clearly, both verbal and written, is essential § Solid programming skills for statistical analysis and modelling purposes (R or Python are preferred) § Strong quantitative analytical capabilities combined with experience in dealing with large and/or complex data sets § Good experience with query languages (SQL) § Attention to detail, strong computational and critical thinking skills § Excellent user of Microsoft Excel § Combination of creative abilities and business knowledge § Basic knowledge and hands\-on experience in applied data mining and machine learning techniques is a plus § Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, etc...) is a plus Primary Location: Egypt\-Giza\-GIZA HEAD OFFICE Work Locations: Nile Tower Building. 21/23 Charles De Gaulle St., Giza P.O.
