Would you enjoy applying your competencies in German as a foreign language and project management within an intercultural environment? **WHAT AWAITS YOU** -------------------- * You promote German language teaching and the German language in Egypt and the North Africa/Middle East region through innovative measures and contribute to nationwide activities in coordination with the Goethe-Institut Cairo * You build and expand networks and collaborations both nationally and regionally, as well as with partners in Germany, for skilled workforce recruitment * You lead nationwide project teams in Egypt in coordination with the management in Cairo * You plan and conduct training programs for German language teachers, e.g., on area studies, methodology/didactics, and project-based teaching on civic topics such as sustainability * You conceptualize, acquire, apply for, plan, and implement projects * You manage projects and programs promoting the German language abroad, especially in the field of vocational schools and other national and regional projects within the framework of German educational cooperation * You advise school administrations and German teachers on applying to offer German as a foreign language at vocational schools and on organizing German language instruction * Furthermore, you advise educational authorities and other relevant partners and institutions on all matters relating to foreign-language and subject-specific German teaching (curricula, teaching organization, methodology/didactics, literature and area studies including language policy issues) * You contribute to the implementation of promotional activities for German as a foreign language * You conduct school and university visits to strengthen the presence and network of the Goethe-Institut in Egypt * You plan and implement public relations activities for local, nationwide, and regional projects in coordination with management **WHAT CHARACTERIZES YOU** ------------------------ * You hold a completed academic university degree, preferably in German studies/German as a foreign language or a modern foreign language * You have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the methodology/didactics of German as a foreign language and expertise in planning, implementing, evaluating, and financing projects * You also have experience in the field of further and continuing education * As part of your training and teaching practice, you have at least one year of experience in the field of German as a foreign language and ideally also in teaching students * You have successfully used digital tools as well as digital and hybrid formats in teaching and teacher training * You have several years of experience in third-party funding acquisition and project and financial management * You are proficient in using Microsoft 365, digital communication, and marketing * You are willing to familiarize yourself with another education system and work in politically challenging contexts * You demonstrate teamwork skills, high motivation, and enthusiasm * Good Arabic skills and regional cultural experience are an advantage; very good English skills are desirable * You are willing to undertake business trips within Egypt **WHAT WE OFFER YOU** ------------------------ * We compensate you up to salary group 13 TVöD Bund or the equivalent pay group as a civil servant teacher * You will receive comprehensive onboarding and individual training opportunities * You are entitled to 30 days of vacation * Additionally, we provide travel expense allowances, a relocation allowance, a possible monthly housing allowance, as well as occasion-based travel and school allowances * Additional benefits are based on the guidelines of the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA) * Please note that this is not a secondment.
