**Intention Setting at the New Moon** A special extended session before the holidays This month, we’re trying something new. As we approach the winter solstice when the days start growing longer again, this session invites men to pause, tune into what they need, and set intentions not only for the month ahead but also for the coming year. We’ll begin with grounding and reflection, and then I’ll guide a longer, deeper visualisation that supports you in imagining the year ahead from an unexpected angle, to clarify what you want to grow, strengthen, or release. During the session you’ll create a kind of map that you can return to throughout next year as a personal reminder. Intention setting functions as a mindfulness practice that often steadies the mind, reduces stress, and improves focus. Research on mindfulness suggests that even brief periods of reflection can help people regulate emotions and make clearer choices. The New Moon offers a natural marker for this kind of work. Many traditions link it with beginnings or seed-planting, while in everyday life it can serve as a monthly (and in this case yearly) invitation to reset. I’ll offer a little background on the symbolism of this lunar phase as optional inspiration. Then we’ll move through simple exercises that help you notice what matters most and shape clear, grounded intentions for the year ahead. At the end, participants may choose to reflect their intentions with the group.
